I hadn’t thought about this series in years. This was a very difficult time in my life (not to mention my mother and father and sister). My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer while I was in school. I took time off sporatically to come home and hang out with her. During a break, I documented her surgery and recovery. The images blew away any other project presented that year in any of my classes. It was a way for both mom and I to cope. The year-later was very hard.

Still sends chills to look at these.
